Messages for your Christmas Cards 2.12.2009

Below we've listed our favourite 8 messages for Christmas cards. If you are sending a card to a non-Christian, just replace the word "Christmas" with "season" or "holiday season". Most people have time out at this time of year and spend their holiday time with family or friends. It's still a great opportunity to send a message and stay connected with people on a personal or business level.

8 Christmas/Holiday Card Messages

1. May the season bring you the music of laughter and the warmth of friendship.
2. Wishing you and your loved ones all the wonder and magic of Christmas.
3. May peace be your gift this season and your blessing all year through.
4. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
5. "At Christmas, play and make good cheer, as Christmas comes but once a year", by Thomas Tusser.
6. Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
7. One of the real joys of the holiday season is the opportunity to say "Thank You" and to wish you the very best for the new year.
8. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.

Show sincerity when writing your Christmas cards, include a meaningful message or verse. Be personal and make it count.

The Joy of Snail Mail 25.11.2009

The Joy of Snail Mail

You receive several e-mails in your inbox daily. Some junk, some social, some work related. You deal with them, respond and delete.

Your mail box at the end of your driveway delivers you a steady stream of bills, insurance renewals, share statements and the like. These might litter your kitchen bench top for a few days before you get around to making the payments and filing the paperwork.

What if amongst your snail mail there was a brightly coloured envelope with handwriting on the front? It is clearly not a bank statement or a letter from your accountant and your birthday was six months ago. Imagine the excitement and anticipation to open that envelope first. Someone has sent you a card, there is even a real stamp on it, you haven't seen a real stamp in months!

Not only do you immerse yourself in the excitement of opening that envelope but once you do open it and enjoy the gorgeous card and personal note, it is then proudly displayed and you are reminded of it as you walk past it several times a day.
An e-mail is a quick and convenient way to communicate but does it pack a punch? An e-mail will deliver the message but it will be read once, maybe twice and then deleted amongst an ocean of other messages. Snail mail will deliver impact and sincerity. The recipient will think "wow, he or she truly values me". They will continue to be reminded of you as they keep seeing that card.

Snail mail is a wonderful way to convey appreciation and fondness to family and friends. It is also an extremely effective marketing tool in business.

8 ideas to start embracing snail mail today:

1. Who has helped you out recently? Show your appreciation and send them a card thanking them for their efforts. Tell them what a difference they make.

2. Tell your loved one what they mean to you. In our hectic lives, it is easy to become complacent. Stay connected, send a love letter!

3. Be grateful for gifts. I was brought up to write individual letters to everyone who brought me gifts for my birthday and Christmas. I believe it is rude not to. That person spent their time and money choosing a gift specifically for you. A thank you note is essential.

4. Have you just met someone who would make a good business alliance, supplier, referrer or mentor? Send them a card telling them how nice it was to meet them and learn about what they do. This will make you stand out.

5. Thank your clients. If you are in business, your clients are your bread and butter. They pay your wages, they put the food on your table. Thank them for their business. Showing gratitude with a card will keep your relationship strong and keep them coming back to you.

6. After a job interview, send a thank you card to the interviewer for the opportunity. This will set you apart. If they don't find you the most suitable applicant for that role, they will see you as a creative and motivated candidate and consider you for other openings.

7. Who is your rock? Who has helped you get to where you are? Be it financially, emotionally, intellectually or spiritually there will be someone in your life that has always believed in you and supported you. Send a card to that person, convey your gratitude, tell them how awesome they are.

8. Sending a simple handwritten note when you have received exceptional service. You will make their day, their boss will be proud and they will be tripping over themselves to serve you with excellence next time too.

Although quick and convenient, e-mail is not always the most effective way to send a message. Get into the card sending habit and set yourself apart as someone who cares. Make people smile and make them feel special. Create a lasting impression.

5 Top Tips for Christmas Cards 28.10.2009

5 Top Christmas Cards Tips

1. Buy now. What's the hurry you might think? Now's your chance to get
first dibs on the best stock. It's our first Christmas here at Think
Cards and we are on a mission to sell all of our Christmas cards. If you
want impressive, high end cards at great prices, don't hang around
because you might miss out.
2. Start writing and preparing now. This will save you a lot of time and
stress in the long run. With the days passing quickly, before you know
it the international postage cut off dates will be upon us.
3. Search through the year's best photos. If you have relatives and friends
interstate or overseas that you rarely or never see, include a couple of
recent photos. Photos sent by e-mail often get filed away and forgotten
but a real photograph that they can touch will be well received and
kept.
4. Be personal. Write a personal message to show you care. Be sincere,
don't just sign your name.
5. Keep the Christmas card tradition going. Christmas cards are a great
opportunity to keep in touch. You may not have been in touch since the
last Christmas card you sent but it's a great way to keep a connection
or friendship alive.

My favourite is the one of two snails staring at a tape dispenser. The caption reads: "I don't care if it's a tape dispenser, I love her". Blank inside and suitable for many occasions, who even needs an occasion? Send one to make someone's day. Check out these cards by Valentines Marketing in our funny cards category.
